Purpose of the test วัตถุประสงค์การสอบ

Institutions use TOEFL ITP internally to place learners into English programs, monitor progress during the program, and test before program completion — as well as for scholarship requirements and admission to short-term, non-degree/pathway programs.

สถาบันใช้ TOEFL ITP ภายในองค์กรเพื่อจัดระดับผู้เรียนเข้าโปรแกรมภาษาอังกฤษ ติดตามความก้าวหน้าระหว่างเรียน และทดสอบก่อนจบหลักสูตร รวมถึงใช้ประกอบทุนการศึกษา และการรับเข้าโปรแกรมระยะสั้นแบบไม่นับหน่วยกิต (non-degree / pathway programs)

It is not used for direct degree-program admission the way TOEFL iBT is, and it differs from TOEIC®, which is mainly used in workplace contexts such as hiring and promotion within organizations.

Level 1 (Intermediate–Advanced): Listening 50 questions / 35 minutes, Structure and Written Expression 40 questions / 25 minutes, Reading 50 questions / 55 minutes — total 140 questions / 115 minutes, total score 310–677

Scoring การคิดคะแนน

1. Count the number of correct answers (raw score) per section
2. Convert to a scaled score per section using ETS's conversion table
3. Sum the section scores to get the total score

Raw scores cannot be converted at a fixed rate (e.g. points per question) — ETS's conversion table must be used for each test form.

The table uses CEFR as the common reference point, showing the minimum levels ETS maps. It is not a direct TOEFL ITP ↔ TOEIC conversion formula.
